This healthy apple chip requires simple ingredients. You will need oatmeal, apples, cinnamon, maple syrup, and a few others. Trust me when I say this is the BEST apple crumble you will ever eat. Here is a list of everything you need to be prepared:
apple filling:
- apples:You need red and green apples. I love to use Honey Crisp or Pink Lady apples and Granny Smith apples. But I'm sure any apple you have on hand will work!
- Maple syrup:For natural sweetness. There are no refined sugars in this healthy apple crumble recipe.
- Lemon:You need lemon juice and lemon zest. This gives this apple crumble the best shine and makes it taste like classic apple pie.
- Tapioca flour or arrowroot starch:This will help thicken the filling and make it stickier and more delicious.
- Cinnamon:Of course for all the flavors of autumn!
Hafer-Crumble-Topping:
- Avena:This will give the crumble a crispy, crunchy top.
- Flour:You can use whole wheat flour, all purpose flour, or 1:1 gluten-free baking flour. It all works and makes these healthy oats crumble so well!
- Walnuts:You can use pecans or walnuts. This adds texture and the best flavor. If you don't have nuts, skip them.
- Maple syrup:That sweetens the crunch on top.
- coconut beer:So that the crumble melts in the mouth and also does not contain dairy.
- Vanilla extract:My secret ingredient for making crumbled topping tastier and taste like apple pie!

How to make the best healthy apple crumble
This healthy apple crumble is prepared in four easy steps. It's very easy to do, but let's go through the process together. Here are step-by-step instructions with images for visual reference:
Paso 1:
First, preheat your oven to 350°F and lightly grease a 9"x9" baking dish or9 inch cake panwith nonstick cooking spray. Put aside.
Paso 2:
Then core, peel and cut the apples into thin slices. Then, in a large bowl, combine the maple syrup, lemon juice, lemon zest, tapioca flour, and cinnamon and pour into the cake pan or saucepan.
Paso 3:
In a separate bowl, prepare the crumble topping by mixing all the ingredients. Then sprinkle the oat crumble evenly over the apple mixture.

Stage 4:
Finally, bake for 40-50 minutes until the top is golden and crisp and the filling is warm and bubbly. If the topping browns too quickly, cover the cake pan with aluminum foil and continue baking.
Let your Healthy Apple Crisp cool for 5 minutes. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream and enjoy!

Expert Baking Tips
Don't sacrifice strength. You can use tapioca flour, arrowroot powder, or cornstarch for this recipe. It makes the apple filling super gooey and soaks up any excess liquid from the apples as they bake.
Thinly slice your apples. This ensures an even baking process and tender apples. Apple slices take longer to bake.
Grease your saucepan well.If you don't grease the pan well, the apples can stick to the bottom of the pan!

Suggestions for replacing ingredients
I love this recipe just the way it is, but if you're running low on an ingredient or two, here's a list of the best substitutes. I just recommend making a change or two so you don't change the original recipe too much!
- Avena:You can use quick oats but not steel cut oats.
- Maple syrup:Replacing the maple syrup with honey should work perfectly!
- Tapiocamel:You can use arrowroot powder or cornstarch. If you don't have any, try 2-3 tablespoons of the flour you use for the streusel topping.
- coconut beer:You can also use melted butter or vegan butter!
- Sin gluten:You can use gluten-free 1:1 all-purpose baking flour.
- Nussfrei:Skip the pecans and walnuts.
- Granny Smith Apples:You can use any red apple if you have to!
Apple Crumble vs Apple Crisp
A "crisp" apple and "crumble" are often used interchangeably. Both have crisp, buttery toppings atop a hot and sticky baked apple filling. This key difference is that crumbs have flour in the crumbs, while chips are usually just oats and nuts.
