Method 1:How to Make a Dotted Line in Illustrator

Step 1

start with theline tool (\)or thePen Tool (P)and create your line.

Using theline tool (\), hold theChangewhile clicking and dragging to easily create a straight line. Alternatively, you can click on your artboard to open theLine segment tool optionswindow. Select theAngleit's himLengthof the line and then clickOKto create it

Using thePen Tool (P), click once to add the starting point of the line and holdChangeto create a straight line. Make sure your row stays selected and open theCareerquadro (Window > Trace🇧🇷 If you are unable to see all the options shown in the following image, open the drop-down menu on theCareerpanel and go toshow options.

To begin with, let's increase the course.Weightone20 pointsand check theround capbutton, which will help you create the points by adding rounding to the end of a stroke.

Step 3

To convert a line to a dashed line in Illustrator, start by checking thebroken linebox ofCareerpanel. By default, the firstFeaturethe value will be set to12 points, which will turn your line into a dashed line. Set the value for the first space setting to20 points(or more) to better understand each trait.

To turn that dashed line into a dotted line in Illustrator, all you have to do is pull down thefeaturevalor a0 points.

Just increase the space value each time you want to add more space between points.

Log in0 pointsin a secondFeaturebox to add a second point, and then define the secondLacunavalor a80 points🇧🇷 With this setup you will have a period followed by a40 pointsspace and a second period followed by a80 pointsGap = Gap. You can do the same for the remaining two fields. Feel free to play around with these values, and remember that stroke weight determines the size of the dots.

Method 2:How to Make a Dotted Line in Illustrator with the Blend Tool

Step 1

start with theline tool (\)and use it to create a straight line.

continue with theEllipse Tool (L)and use it to create two perfect circles. You can click on your clipboard to open theEllipsewindow and enter the size of your shapes, or you can press and hold the buttonChangewhile clicking and dragging to easily create the first circle. After creating the first circle, switch to theSelection Tool (V), hold thealternativeand just click and drag your circle to add a copy.

Select your two circles, choose theFusion Tool (W)in the toolbar and click on one of the circles and then on the other to create a simple combination. Alternatively, you can go toObject > Blend > Make.

Alternatively, you can selectspecified distancefrom the drop-down menu and set the spacing between the dots that make up your blend.
