My mother moved into American House Keene. She is fine. It's a beautiful place and it's cool. All the people I've met so far are excellent. Its main purpose was to support the residents there. What I like is that they have so many daily activities for all residents. They have their indoor theater, a lounge, a little art area and bingo, and my mom loves bingo, so she does. It's great. They have a library there that people can use. The activities and what they offer are simply excellent. I don't have to worry a bit about Mom. The nurses are taking care of her. All the people working in that facility have one goal in mind: to make them, like my mother, very happy, and so on. When I walked into that place for the first time, it blew my mind. It is excellent. it was a blessing, it happened that a vacancy appeared and I managed to get mom to go there. It was incredible, they publish a monthly magazine and in that magazine they have the whole month of activities and they do, as a rule, probably at least five activities a day. In the morning they have breakfast from 7:30 to 9:30. From there they go to their little exercise at 9:30 am. At 10:30 they have coffee time. It's amazing. From there they go to lunch. Then they usually have some other type of activity, be it cornhole or balloon volleyball. They have shuffleboard. They usually have two movies, a matinee and then one later in the afternoon. It works for about an hour and a half. They have a beautiful place and everything is there. Mommy can do her hair or her nails and give her massages. It's unreal. They have buses that go to the nearest malls and if she needs to go to the doctor, they take her straight to the doctor and there is no problem. Everything is taken care of. Everything is planned for her. I can't say enough good about it. Everyone I spoke to was very polite and friendly and had one goal in mind: taking care of the residents. He likes to do karaoke and loves country western music and has his own machine so they go set it up. Everyone wants her to achieve that because everyone is wanting to sing. Mom coordinated with the activities advisor and all is well. Mom loves it. I met the chef. They have amazing food. My brother and I eat six or seven meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner and it's good. You are beautiful. It's an old mill they converted and kept the theme everywhere in all windows the same size so the plugin was the same theme and everything. Is nice. They keep everyone going and it's good. The purpose of having assisted living is to keep them busy as far as I'm concerned. For what they are doing, providing and offering, as far as I can tell, it's the best deal in the area for your money. Best bang for your buck really as far as I'm concerned.(read less)
